Dr. Wiles is an economist who has analyzed complex business issues and supported expert testimony on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in securities, financial, antitrust, and class certification matters, including on both sides of government investigations. He has testified as an expert witness regarding breach of contract damages. He has also assessed damages related to price-fixing and other antitrust violations, automobile defects, rate adjustments for life and long-term care insurance, and the impacts on commercial real estate of the September 11 attacks. Dr. Wiles has performed affirmative pay equity studies and developed methodologies to address identified disparities, constructed statistical models to assess automobile depreciation and auto insurance claims, evaluated completed conjoint analysis surveys in product defect and intellectual property cases, and quantified the performance and value of life insurance policies. He has collaborated with leading academics to investigate the value of an autonomous vehicle company, factors affecting the secondary market for life insurance policies, and the impacts of marketing on consumers’ automobile purchase decisions. Dr. Wiles’s academic research has used data on millions of automobiles to examine the impacts of pollution control policies.
