- Why did you choose AG?
- Coming out of undergrad with degrees in economics and statistics, I knew Analysis Group was the perfect place to apply those analytical skills while developing more. Plus, I wanted to be part of a culture that really cares about personal growth. I also chose AG because I wanted to dip my toes in a wide variety of practice areas right out of undergrad and work with incredibly intelligent team members.
- What do you work on at AG?
- I primarily work on intellectual property and class action cases. Within these cases, I help with a variety of quantitative and qualitative tasks, including data analysis, document review, and drafting of expert reports.
- What do you enjoy most about your work? What do you find most challenging?
- I love that I learn something new every day! Each case is different and requires creative solutions. One of the most challenging parts of the job is keeping up with the fast-paced nature of some cases, but AG’s highly collaborative setting makes this challenge equally comforting.
- Have you worked with any affiliates/experts? What was that experience like?
- I have worked with various experts across different cases and have had opportunities to present analyses to them over calls. These experiences have taught me to think through analyses critically and communicate my ideas in a concise manner.
- What new skills have you learned since joining AG?
- I have learned the importance of effective communication, as well as different ways to present complex analyses to a diverse group of audiences. I have also developed my STATA, R, and Excel skills by conducting analytical and quantitative analyses in my case work and trainings.
- What new experiences have you had at AG?
- I feel lucky to have experienced AG’s strong and supportive work culture right out of undergrad. I have also conducted several new analyses, learned about the different kinds of litigation, and gained exposure to a variety of work styles from a diverse network of people.
- What is it like to work on a case team?
- It is extremely collaborative while being equally challenging. My case team members have taught me how to approach problems in various ways, and I constantly learn from them. It is also great knowing that everyone in the case team is working together to meet deadlines.
- What is it like to work in your office? What is the culture there?
- The Dallas office is the smallest US office. Because of this, everyone here is really close; I can walk in and chat with anyone at any point. We have regular happy hours and case dinners outside of the office, which have allowed us to build stronger relationships.
- What do you think about AG’s collaborative culture? How does this benefit your work? Clients?
- It allows me to raise questions, present ideas, and learn from my colleagues. I think AG’s collaborative culture has greatly benefited my work by helping me improve my problem solving and critical thinking skills while building lasting connections.
- What do you do when you’re not working?
- Growing up I was a professional tennis player, so I try to play tennis fairly often. I have also been enjoying playing pickleball!
- How do you find a suitable work/life balance?
- Given that court deadlines move around, it can be hard to find a suitable work/life balance. However, at a place like AG, you can really communicate your needs to the people around you. It is satisfying knowing that if I have a really busy few weeks, other case managers will understand and take my workload into consideration when assigning new tasks.
