US Unwired Acquisition
Analysis Group was retained by counsel for US Unwired Inc. in its lawsuit against Sprint Corp. By converting the affiliate status of US Unwired, Sprint assumed greater control over US Unwired's operations, including its customer service. The suit alleged that this conversion was illegal and that it harmed US Unwired. An Analysis Group team led by Managing Principal Bruce Deal worked with academic affiliate Professor Robert Hall, who estimated the extent of that harm and provided trial testimony. During the time period of the trial, US Unwired gained considerable market value, and the value gains persisted through the defense expert's testimony and the conclusion of the trial. The case was settled after trial but before the court ruled, when Sprint agreed to acquire US Unwired for $1.3 billion.
